I'm curious what NetNewsWire does with cookies? Does it accept all,
including cookies from third-party sites? Does it ignore and/or reject
all? Does it make a difference in what it does if I open links in NNW
vs. using my default browser?

I maintain pretty tight control over cookies in my browser (one of the
reasons I use Firefox instead of Safari) and I'm curious about this
app as well.

Thanks.

I believe that it uses whatever policy you set in Safari.

According to the documentation, cookies are shared across all apps
that use WebKit, and changes in cookie preferences affect all apps
that use WebKit. So it should be that your Safari preferences for
cookies also affect NetNewsWire. (However, I haven't tested this to be
absolutely sure.)

I don't think this is true. I have a news feed that has both public
and private components. The public components are accessible
anywhere. The private components require a previously generated
cookie.

In the aforementioned feed, all articles are visible if I access the
feed from Safari, but only the public ones are visible if I access the
feed from NNW on the same computer.
