Subject: inconsistent sync of desktop, iPhone content
Hi all,

Does anyone else have inconsistent syncing between Desktop & iPhone
versions of NetNewsWire?  For example, using the desktop NNW, I went
through my "Macintosh News" sub-folder, and marked everything as read
by double-clicking on it so that the base web page would open in a new
tab.  I read the content, then closed the tabs.  I waited a while.
Then, I opened up NNW on the iPhone and explicitly hit the refresh
button.

It looks like *most* of the fees are cleared appropriately, but the
phone is telling me that all of Daring Fireball is fresh content.

Now that I say that, it occurs to me that I used to have a custom feed
for that (since I was a subscriber), but I let that lapse.  I have the
ordinary RSS URL in NNW desktop -- but it also still has the user &
password info there.  I'm clearing that out, and I don't see any
changes in syncing behavior but maybe this will be relevant later?

Does anyone else see behavior like this?

I'm running what I think is the latest version of the software:
Desktop: NNW, 3.3
iPhone:  NNW Premium, 2.0.5

thanks,

Michael

It's just not on the phone, it's NNW that will not sync properly. Read the
feeds on on Google, or read them on any RSS app on the phone, and Google
and the phone apps are in sync. Read with NNW and the read/unread status is
not correct. This is an issue that had been reported for YEARS and the
developers are incapable of fixing, or unwilling. The only way to keep the
status in sync between the desktop and the phone is to use a different
desktop RRS app.

I'm having the same problem but on my laptop (mid 2009 MBP 10.7) it syncs
perfectly but on my desktop (mid 2011 iMac 10.7 & 10.8) it never updates
items as read from Google.  It does properly transmit that I've read an
item on the iMac but not if I've read it elsewhere.  Guess I have to look
again for another app.  Just found this after they took RSS out of Safari :(
