My roommate in college said "Definately paw - they'll think you're not
interested otherwise".  A girl I went out with (sort of - it's a wierd
story.  Anyway, we were very honest with each other, moreso than most
relationships short of marriage) said "never paw - you'll lose her respect".

So my conclusion (and experience) says to never paw.  In fact, if you
think you're pawing, you probably are hurting (offending, pissing off)
the woman in question.  The time to get physical is \after/ you know
she will enjoy it, too.
