Some of the standard key bindings in emacs are becoming a nuisance
of great proportion. ^S, ^Q and ^P are all used by the network devices
between me and the program, to wit:
^S = xoff (pause, etc)
^Q = xon (continue, etc)
^P = data link escape (for my localnet 20 box I use ^P^H as my
command sequence characters to avoid
escape, del which has even worse effects)

Does someone have a solution to this problem which is reasonable, and still
allows network controls on the line? I know I could remove the key bindings
but would like some thoughts on alternatives.
Also, the UNIX line I normally access is a 9600 bps tandem mode
line. Tandem works fine, and I would hate to lose it considering that
our system is often heavily loaded. Also, this terminal is an Ann Arbor
Ambassador which will also flow control automagically, preventing data loss.
