Three questions for ATT 6300 owners:

(1) Has anyone out there modified their ATT 6300 to disable the internal
video board? Done properly, this should allow any of the standard PC
graphics cards to be installed: e.g. IBM EGA board. Ideally, this
modification should be switch selectable between internal and
external displays. To run with the EGA will, of course, require
another Video Monitor.

(2) Has anyone found an acceptable non-ATT, (cheaper than the $750 that ATT
wants), color monitor that is a drop in replacement? One ad I saw
mentioned that TAXAN had one.

(3) I've heard that the Hercules board will plug in and run with no
modifications, anyone tried that?

The AT&T 6300 will support the Taxan 440 and 640 (relatively) hi res
monitors without modification. An excellent monitor for the
price (under 500). Just an adapter cable is required. (I have the
pinouts if they're needed).

Olivetti (the 6300's manufacturer) sez that the internal card can be
disabled and *promises* to send me info. I'll post it when I get
it.

Good luck.

If you are really serious about mods available for the 6300, drop a note to a
friend of mine who works with AT&T mods as a consultant: Michael Hart,
