There are two methods that I most recommend for "updating" dead links
in any list of websites. These are techniques that can be especially
useful when
one finds a resource they simply must see, only to find the website is
gone when
the hyperlink is clicked.

First try the website URL in the Internet Archive.

http://www.archive.org

Secondly search the name of the website enclosed in quotation marks in:

Google
http://www.google.com

Google News
http://www.google.com/nwshp?hl=en&tab=wn&q=

Google Scholar
http://scholar.google.com/schhp?hl=en&q=&tab=ns

Google Government
http://www.google.com/ig/usgov

The result of these searches may be finding the old site at a new location
or finding other relevant content that you can use in place of the
deceased
website.
