Formed in January 2003, the Open Source Portfolio Initiative (OSPI) is a
collaborative, open-source, software development project based on the
University of Minnesota Enterprise System's electronic portfolio software.
The University of Minnesota (U of MN), University of Delaware, and the
r-smart group, founded this collaborative to open the evolution of the U
of MN ePortfolio to diverse input, rapid development, and widespread use.

Individual learners, teachers, and professionals create electronic
portfolios to represent themselves using web-based software.

Individuals:

collect a diverse, multi-media set of items that represent learning and
experience over a lifetime

reflect on curricular, co-curricular, and non-curricular experiences and
accomplishments to integrate and enhance learning

select subsets to represent different aspects of their identities and
experiences

connect with multiple audiences across multiple contexts for
communication, sharing, and feedback

The OSP 2.0 ePortfolio

Our OSP ePortfolio harnesses the creative work of 'folio thinking' thought
leaders into a set of powerful tools that interoperate in the Sakai
framework.

itself.
