Hi there, does somebody know what IV tubes are there? I would love to see a list with pictures or something like that.

You could look at http://www.gstube.com/catalog/7 which is a site that
seems to be selling tubes. But they have a list of tubes, even ones
they don't sell, usually with the manufacturer's name, picture, and
often a data sheet. Scroll down about halfway to get to the IV series.

I'd love to find a few IV-2 tubes, no point in describing them you'll
have to see them :)

Others I know of not in that list:

IV-19 Top view Numitron
IV-28 Large single dot (VFD version of IN-28)

Anyone know of any more?.

Tony.

Sorry the IV29 is the large dot, the IV-28 is a flat multi digit 'VCR'
type display.

There's quite a few more types of Soviet / Russian VFDs, especially
once you get out of the IV-## numbering format. Dieter's data archive
at http://www.tube-tester.com/sites/nixie/dat_arch.htm (scroll down to
"Russian Tube Factories") has a huge amount of information, both full
data books and individual tube data sheets. Knowledge of Russian is
helpful. 8-}

Newer displays seem to be trending towards the gigantic rather than
the miniature. The ILC1-1/7 is a 7-segment display bigger than a soda
can: http://www.decadecounter.com/vta/articleview.php?item=1072

The UDT-3 is a 9 x 7 dot matrix display the same size as the ILC1-1/7.
The ILV2-5/7M2 is a smaller display in the same style envelope which
is a 5 x 7 RGB VFD.

This is a special-purpose VFD panel: http://www.tmk.com/transient/6F5S8587-s.jpg

This is the largest Russian VFD I know of, a 128 x 128 matrix display:
http://www.tmk.com/transient/6F5S8655-s.jpg

If you expand beyond VFDs, you can find many bizarre devices. The
ITM2M is a truly bizarre tube which is a high-voltage RGBY display in
a 2 x 2 format, designed for making giant display panels (with equally
giant power requirements).

Look what i found, could the clock be made out of the IN-28 tubes? http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:El.clock_Poznan_WBK.jpg

Hi,

I don't think so, looks like it's made from several aligned neon tubes instead. Typical IN-28 displays look like this:

You can always see the dots very clearly.

Oh yeah, you are probably right, i looked into the curners and it seemd it could be single bulbs, but you can see on the left side those tubes overlaping.
