Andre,
that is very good input! Could you please raise an enhancement issue on it?

The data browser could use some usability enhancements anyway. For instance relationship or label filters. It's completely unusable for large data sets. Might be a good idea to just sit down as a team and give the UI some thought...

Michael,
that sounds like a great plan! To start with, could we just start a
Google Doc and dot down ideas that you would like to improve? I know
Jacob Hansson, who wrote the Webadmin, has been looking into a rewrite
in AngularJS, and that is where we might prototype some of these
ideas. Also, there are a number of issues to work on already, see
https://github.com/neo4j/neo4j/issues?labels=webadmin&milestone=&page=1&state=open

Are you interested in contributing some of that? If you do, I'll make
you a personal T-Shirt.

I'd love to, but I'll have to check with legal first. Not sure if they'll let me contribute to open source software :D

Lemme know if you need help explaining why you should do that!

Done so, (though it does not seem to show up?)

In fact, a minor change, but huge improvement that should definitely go in there would be displaying 'name' field of a node "button" (if present), rather just "Node%d" where %d = Node Number and the relationship type for a relationship (rather than just "Relationship %d").

Add that to the Google Doc for me, will you? :-)

Michael,

yes, this is especially annoying as there does not seem to be any current usable interface for directly viewing and editing data. Neoclipse is out of date as well.
Or are there, and I just don't know of them? Then I'd be happy to get pointers.

Thanks, Michael, Peter:

Same for Gephi. It doesn't even work with 1.9 properly..

You can always try and build something on your own. For instance with D3: http://d3js.org/

My usage of the data browser is limited anyway, since I have to try and build some graphical component to interconnect IBM Content Analytics and a Neo4j Graph...

Andre,
you are right that editable graph UI is right now to superstrong.
Issue is at https://github.com/neo4j/neo4j/issues/812, thanks!

Wanna connect in a Skype or IRC meeting sometime next week to get some
more usability feedback from you?

Maybe on Friday.
Screen sharing would be useful to pinpoint possible improvements in the UI.

I'm on a Mac, have Skype and also can connect to IRC. Did not use Skype for a long time. Does it currently have decent screen sharing options?

A.

Andre,
let's connect tomorrow on Skype. Chrome Remote Desktop or join.me are
good sharing options, otherwise TeamViewer is great, too.
