Hi, i have a server with this configuration:
2x xeon (totally 8 cores)
40GB ram
1 HD SSD 1TB
VMWare server
I need to know how i configure de virtual machine to work with large
database? i read in the manual chapter, the recommended RAM is 4-8GB,
this is ok??
other question, how i configure the neo4j to use more than 1 HD??
Pleas i need your help to configure the virtual machine to use a large
database.

Hi Gaston,
did you take a look at http://docs.neo4j.org/chunked/snapshot/server.html and the hardware calculator at neo4j.org? It depends much on what kind of dataset you have, how your properties look and how you are using the database- read or write mostly.

Hi peter, i saw the doc you send me, do you have a steps or how to
install the HA?? because the documentation is confuse, please send me
the steps if you have, i need MUCHHHH to install.

Beside the manual instruction at http://docs.neo4j.org/chunked/snapshot/ha-setup-tutorial.html,
There is an automatic setup via vagrant and several virtual machines at https://github.com/apcj/neo4j-ha-cluster-recipe.
If that doesnt work, contact me off list and I will help you against you improving instructions when we let it running :)

Hi peter now i have this error whe i try to start a service:
Starting Neo4j Server...Error: Could not find or load main class
org.neo4j.server.storemigration.PreStartupStoreUpgrader

How do you start the server?
Skype is probably fastest to solve this.

i move neo4j to /opt,then start will be work.
find in Server Installation
You are encouraged to create a dedicated user for running the service
and for that reason it is suggested that you unpack the distribution
package under/opt or your site specific optional packages directory.
