Yes, I emailed them months ago but did not get a reply. They are the same people that put on Notacon... As far as I can tell there is no activity.

Yes, I apologize for the delay in a reply. Your email was lost in the
server queue.
The Makers' Alliance has formed and is actively having meetings.
We're incorporated as a non-profit in Ohio, with a formal board of
about 7 people (two founding members from Notacon and the founding
members of Recycled Rainbow are on the board), and a member base that
is growing (currently around 30). I would be very interested in
collaborating with you.
We're currently in the fund-raising portion of forming, and exploring
partnering with several organizations in Cleveland for space
(hopefully free!).
Our next meeting will be in the beginning of January. The website at
http://www.makersalliance.org
I haven't gotten a chance to check over your forums yet, but I'll
lurk, etc.
