Neighbors!

I hope you are having a wonderful rainy day as our season fades into fall. Sometimes all this rain can get you down, but guess what - Neighbors for Equality has a great meeting planned this coming week!  So take some time out of your busy lives to regroup with friends and share in the conversation about making our community a more accepting place.

Where: North Village Pavilion, Brevard College.  Enter Brevard College Campus at the Light shared with Caldwell Street (by food lion). Turn Left at the Stop Sign, cross over the creek, and continue towards the Porter Center.  The Villages will be on your right (Porter Center on your left).  The North Village is the one closest to Ingles, the pavilion is polygonal room at the end of the village, near the street.  Park wherever you can (preferably in the Porter Center Parking Lot) and walk into the Pavilion.

When: 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM, Thursday, October 1st!  If you know of someone to bring, bring them!  Again, this is our only meeting this month.

If you could change any one thing in the current climate of  misunderstanding / lack of equal rights for GLBTs, where  would you like to see change?  and why?  Examples:
    
       DOMA - federal Defense of Marriage Act
       DADT - military Don't Ask, Don't Tell
       ENDA - Employment Non-Discrimination Act
       UAFA - Uniting American Families Act - allows US citizens to sponsor legal immigration of same-gender partner
       Hate Crimes Bill
       Health Benefits from partner's employer - if available, they are currently taxed by IRS
       Non-Discrimination in Housing
       Adoption, Foster Care
       GSA - Gay Straight Alliance in schools 
       Religious Bigotry
       or anything else that is important to you
