Hello, everyone! Our group is getting larger every day, which is
GREAT! But, I've never been blessed with an organizing gene. I think
the time has come where I may need some help from interested team
members on various tasks. I thought I would tack this file up near
the beginning of our discussions pages where I can list group tasks
where I'd like some volunteers and/or help. If you find something in
the list that you can and would like to take on, please jump on in.
This isn't required because I understand the various levels of input
each of us can put into this group. So, please only take on a task if
it is something you would like to do and fits in with your activity
levels. If you jump in on some task and find out it is more than you
thought, you can always repost here a request for more volunteers or
change your mind. Hopefully, we can all find our niche and get this
big ole group really clicking along!

My first request is for someone to help organize this google site.  I think some very important topics are getting lost in the long list of discussion.  I really don't know how to organize it so topics are easier to find.  If you have some ideas on that, please share!  I have to admit, I am not a google site expert, but I hope we can organize the posts better in the future.

Thanks!

This is a call for interested members in having a catalog website that
Anika suggested and is willing to create for us. If we get enough
members interested, the cost could be as low or lower than $2 per
shop. That would be if only 25 of us were interested. There are
almost 75 of us now.

And another suggestion was to create a Needlefelt group blog. Who has
always desired to have a group blog? This could be another great
avenue for our goal of sharing the needlefelt love with the unknowing
masses in the world.

If you are interested, you can reply directly to this post. Thanks
for all your help on getting this incredible and new art medium out in
front of the peeps! :D

Is it possible to organize threads at all here??

Near as I can tell this is a linear forum - threads are arranged by
date and response unless pinned to the top. Are there other tools
available for organizing??
I suspect that if we really wanted a useful space for discussing
needle felting and keeping the information organized we'd need our own
site and forumS. That would certainly open up a lot of possibilities
but would also require some sort of financial contribution etc.

(feel free to ignore me - I'm all alone on Chrismas day - had to stay
home to take care of one of my dogs who got a really nasty abscess
just before we were to leave for the folks - so I guess I may be
grumpy - :) )

Awww, I won't ignore you.  I'm in a big ole blizzard out here on the ranch with my son.  Hubby's in WA with his mother, family reunion of sorts.  We were afraid storms would hit like last year here in CO so we couldn't both go.  Good thing, because it's a blowing now.  I have to run out and feed in a few minutes and check on everyone.  But, I should be back.

I hope you have a good Christmas and your poor little pup heals up quick.

I don't know if there is a way to organize these posts.  I was hoping one of us needlefelters would know and let me know.  There is one place where it says I can make a tree?  Not sure what that means.

Hang in there. :)  Merry Christmas!

I would be interested in helping to create a group blog. I have two blogs already:

my homeschool blog, Today in Faerie School:

my crafty blog, FaerieRebecca's Workbench:

We could feature an artist of the week from our street team, announce contests, etc. The Plush Team has a blog--maybe we could model on that?

Thanks,
Rebecca

Maybe we could get a blog with a forum feature attached then it is easier to read back threads and organize them. Or we could attach this also to the Catalog site. There it is not difficult to install.

Have a nice holiday everyone. We had allready our Hanukkah but my daughter Hilah (whom i have the Etsy shop with) went last night to the mass of the ancient Carmelite monastry in  Haifa with her husband & an international  group of  friends, she said it was great, of another world.
Hang in there with that storm hopefully it passes quick without damage!!
Greetings,
Anika

Thank you Anika for our gorgeous web/portal page and Rebecca for our
exciting new blog! I'm looking forward to the additional capabilities
that these sites might be able to offer in the future, too.

We now have over 100 members from all over the world with more joining
every day. Not all of us are taking advantage of this google site,
the flickr site, web site and blog site, yet. But, since we are
mainly artists and not computer experts, I think it will just take a
bit of time to get used to each new technology and understand how it
will impact our own marketing needs as well as promote needlefelt in
general.

So, I was wondering if it might be time to work on a once a month
needlefelt e-newsletter that can go out to all members. It can be a
place to tell of updates in the past month, highlight artists,
highlight techniques, introduce members, explain how our various group
sites work and what value they add, etc.

Do we have any volunteers interested in this idea? If this is right
up your alley, then please reply to this post. Thanks!
Gina

Hi Gina,
A newsletter is a great idea. I have been setting up a contentmanagement system on needlefelters.com.
One of the components I can set up there is a Newsletter!

Greetings,
Anika
