We want to have an Adobe Fest at our February meeting (Feb 7th from
1-4).
Photoshop, Lightbox, InDesign, Illustrator, Fireworks, DreamWeaver,
Acrobat…..and more!
Adobe has been working hard to create cool tools for graphic artists
and web professionals. CS5.5 came out last year with new features I’m
sure we’ve not had a chance to explore.
So here’s the deal:
we’re looking for volunteers to make short presentations on one cool
tool -- not a comprehensive overview of a software title, just one
(or maybe two) really cool things that you can do.
As User Group managers Meg and I get to participate in “Tech
Wednesday” Adobe Connect sessions. Some of them are advance info
and we’re not allowed to talk about them. Others are just
presentations about various Adobe possiblities.
If you volunteer to be a presenter we’ll provide you a link to watch
one of the archives that might give you inspiration for your spotlight
presentation.
Here are titles of a few of those Tech Wednesday presentations:
• Creative and Fun Special Effects in InDesign
• Introducing Fireworks CSS3 Mobile Pack
• Using Dreamweaver for responsive Web Design
• Photoshop Retouching Techniques and Tips
• Wireframing and Prototyping for Mobile using Fireworks
• Hidden GEms and Technologies in Photoshop CS5
Interested? Email Barb (
ba...@irislines.com) with your ideas and
request for a link for one of the above.
Seven to nine people could do 10-15 minute presentations and we’d
all go home inspired to try something new. And those people would
have earned points towards our next big software giveaway, coming up
in June.
The meeting agenda will also include some time to plan out the next
year – we’ve got some ideas and we want your feedback. There will
also be a short presentation on online resources Adobe offers and a
video on the brand new Touch Apps. An announcement is due during the
first quarter of 2012 about those Apps coming for the ipad. They look
pretty cool!
