who is coming to the H-mart Tour

hi all,
i am planning on being at the h-mart tour with walter this saturday at
4:30. who else here is planning on going? hopefully the mass crowds have
slowed a bit and you can park near the store (people were overflowing to
the market basket lot next door).
the reports on h-mart are rather amazing. massive amounts of fresh fish,
3 ailes of western food (not that i am looking for that, but maybe
decent prices?), and the food court. plus it is easy to get to from here
(super 88/hong kong was a pain and no parking).

Wow! Crazy place! I don't expect to go back for a couple
of months in hopes the craziness dies down. I do look forward
to going back.
First, we had to park way around the back side of the Market Basket
parking lot. We walked around to the building, and on the way saw
a minor car accident in the main lot. Tons of police were directing
traffic, but it didn't seem to help.
Secondly the store is packed! With so many people pushing carts and
waiting in lines for free samples, it was difficult getting around
without pushing thru crowds. The food court are was also pretty
small for the amount of traffic it got. Many people were trying to
push carts thru the area, which compounded the already choked space.
Thirdly, there were several free samples tables that took quite a long
time preparing some of the items. If you didn't happen apon them at the
right time, you waited.. some not being worth the wait in the end.
Overall, a very impressive store full of a wide range of items. I look
forward to going back when its not so busy so I can take the time to
look around and enjoy the selection.

pretty much my take too. i was glad to have walter 'guiding' us through
the chaos. i learned a bunch and found some new supplies of miso (so
many varieties, it boggles!), and fresh noodles, both of which i
bought. the food court food was decent but as we all found out, slow due
to the massive crowds. i will definite go back to explore in more detail
the fish department (a wide selection), the produce area (lots of stuff
and good looking prices) but i will also wait for a calmer period. i can
go weekday afternoons which i hope will be a much quieter time.
it was good to meet dan and family, ivan and ellen (?) and al and (?).

It was good to meet everyone. We will have to go back after the crazy
crowds have moderated. My impressions were that lots of people were looking
but not buying. Most of the shopping carts being wheeled out seemed to
contain only a small amount of purchases. I'm sure that will change....

H-Mart. Your commentary was the highlight of the day!
It was said that our crowd was less than opening weekend, but it was still
too packed to fully enjoy the experience. I look forward to returning to
check out the store in a more leisurely manner. In a couple of weeks, I'll
be firing up my smoker and I think I'll pick up salmon from H-mart, rather
than WF.
While it was nice to try the food court and sit with the ne.food group, you
couldn't be confused and call it 'fast food' as it took at least 1/2 hour to
order and get the Korean dishes. It was a surprise to be served on real
dishes incl. a stone pot for the bibimbap, but none of the food court
choices impressed me as trip-worthy. On the other hand, my daughter has
fallen in love with the spicy tuna rolls from the sushi vendor and has
fought the traffic a couple of times already.
