Hey Everyone,

The Santa Cruz tourny will be on October 22nd (Saturday).  We'll get it up on Askfred within the week. The league meeting will be the night before in the Cowell Conference Room (same room as last year.) I have it reserved from 6 - 8pm.

It'd also be awesome if everyone would be able to bring a couple strips.

Dear Aaron and UCSC,

Thank you for getting this up and going to start our season off right!  Thank you thank you!

I'd like to point out to the NCIFL, that while Aaron is asking nicely for a couple strips per visiting team, the bylaws pretty much *require* each visiting team to bring no fewer than two strips, with the understanding they are complete, working, fault-free and tested.  Nothing shuts down an event like technical glitches, as we all know, so please don't just huck the parts for your strips into a box and drag them to SC.  Set them up  and test them, make sure you know they are working and good to go.

Additionally, we have still not heard from Fresno.  I'd like someone to volunteer to explore the status of CSUFFC by a route other than this group.  Anyone, anyone?

Bueller?

See you on the 21st,

Thom

Hey Aaron,

Can you let us know when the askfred prereg will be up? Also, is it possible to start the meeting a bit later?

Thanks,
Masaki

Ahh, yep. Here it is: http://askfred.net/Events/moreInfo.php?tournament_id=13634

The person who put up the post used last year's template which shows the incorrect times.  The correct order is Novice -> Foil -> Epee -> Saber.  We'll get that fixed asap.

What times would you want for the meeting? If we can get a group consensus I can try to work around that time and get the room reserved then.

On another note, would any clubs be able to lend us some directors? Our tournament happens to fall on the same day that the NAC in Virginia, so a lot of our directors are going to be out of town.  If you're interested, please contact me and I'll try and throw some incentives and favors of various varieties at you.

Thanks Aaron!
CJ, our VP is running the BERC Energy Symposium that day and it would be helpful to start the meeting at 8 if possible so that he can finish up his responsibilities for the day and so that we dont get stuck in weekend traffic (4-6 friday).
Please let us know if that works for everyone else.

Sorry to push this email, but if everyone wants to change the times of the meeting I'll need to know at the latest by Monday morning so I can send in a time change.

Hi there,

We should do our best to accomodate teams that have to leave after work or classes and then drive 3h+ to get to SC.  A 6 pm meeting time is really *quite* early for this kind of thing.

Sincerely,

Thom

Ok, no problem. I'll see if I can push the start time to 8pm.

Thank you!
Also, TC: Could you attach the NCIFL bylaws to ensure everyone has access to them?  The "files" section is no longer available in google groups.

Cheers,

Hey everyone,
UNR here, bringing two strips may be difficult as our club doesn't technically own its own electric gear.  We have use deals with the clubs in town and I can still try to get at least one.  I will pass on our final availability with that.

I will try to be at the meeting, I will most likely be late as we will be leaving Reno around 430 and may not arrive in Santa Cruz till late.  Also, I want to confirm some details, are knickers required, is the askFRED schedule still correct, and will we need to provide a strip?  Thanks again for the opportunity to compete!

Don't need knickers, athletic pants are fine. Please be at the gym at 8am at the latest with the strips.

Hey everyone,

Sorry for the mix up with times, I did not post the tournament myself. The correct times for the events are the ones you register for NOT the times in the more info section.
