Went to the auction in Charlotte this weekend, probably the last time
that super auctions comes here. Hardly anyone there and games going
cheap, pins going cheap. They had a lot of junk that they brought in
also, seen several times 2, 3, 4, 5, 7 games at a time for ten
dollars. Not great stuff but good for parts and boards. If I had a
building or a basement I could have walked out of there with at least
10 good games and cabs for under $500. I wouldn't have a wife, but..

So I buy a "working" mortal kombat conversion with a 25" monitor for
$40. Works great screen looks great and thats what I wanted it for,
to replace my 19" in my mame cab. I'm so happy, can't believe that I
got a great deal for a change. I pay, move my truck, get the dolly,
don't strap the game, exit the building, hit a hole, game falls over,
hits the pavement goes in several pieces, glass falls out but does not
break. Monitor mounting bites the dust and the monitor (the only
piece I really wanted) slips sideways in the cabinet, nothing too bad
nothing appears to be broken. Take it home, cry a little, pull the
monitor out put the cab back together hook the monitor back up, and I
get no picture - cuss a lot - the game works hear the sounds takes
coin drops and plays. Kick the cab a couple of times and cuss some
more. Go to the internet read bob roberts page and a couple of
others, get the balls up to discharge the monitor - not hard to do at
all, but a little nerve racking the first time. Check all my
connections look over everything don't see anything that jumps out.
Hooked it up to my current mame machine and still no picture, but the
plug is different and I'm connected through a VGA cable that took
several attempts to hack the first time, so I don't put much into
that. So I hook it back to the mortal combat cab, turn it on - screen
comes on and when you turn it off you see that it goes off. Orange
glow in the yoke. If I turn the Horizontial hold up I get green lines
on the monitor see picture below. The monitor is a Pentranic
A63PNT13X, there is some yellow, almost looks like the insulation
spray, on the monitor board by the ac input. My voltages from the
power supply look good. Any help appreciated, or just tell me to junk
it, if that's what it needs.

The moral of the story - alway strap your game to the dolly and look
for pot holes in the parking lot.

It looks like the monitor is not getting a good signal from the game.

I had a machine crash to pieces once too. It was a Crane that I won
for $5.00 and it didn't have the crane assem. in it either. The
machine had wheels so I start pushing it out to the trailer. I almost
got it there and then one of the wheels hit a rock and over it went.
All I could do was watch. Two of the glass sides busted into a
million pieces and the mirror broke as well. I got it back up and
cleaned up as much of the glass as I could and got it into the
trailer. I think I'm going to make an aqurium out of it since I would
have to replace the glass anyway.

Did you check to see if the edge connecter is connected?
Did you check to make sure all the pins around the ceramic tile is
pushed in?
