1. Does anyone have a tube that is compatible with the wg k7000 (13
ohm resistance and maybe even an 8 pin neck adapter)?
or
2. Does anyone have a working electrohome g07 that they will
sell/give/trade to me? For trade I have the wg k7000 chassis with a
recently done cap kit ($13) and a new flyback ($20). I'll even throw
in the old flyback which probably worked fine to begin with.
Please help!!!
Thanks,
Scott
I've got all kinds of G07 chassis', I'd be more than happy to do a
trade for the k7000. Drop me an email if you want to do the swap, and
I'll get it out to you early next week...
Thanks for looking out for me, you forget I have my new laptop with me
down here!
By the way, the Randy Fromm class is excellent. For those of you who
have never met him, he is quite the character, hehe... I imagine that
I'm going to be spending the winter fixing every monitor that I can get
my hands on, so for all you guys in the Raleigh area with dead ones,
start pulling them out!!
And Dave, if you're reading this, expect to see a pile of working G07's
coming your way in the near future...
once you check let me know what you want for it....
Quick question to run past you all. Has anyone seen a kit to replace the
old high-voltage type score displays on a pinball machine with a newer
LED/LCD? The reason I'm asking is that I've got a Space Invaders pinball
that has a scoreboard going out, and I'm not all that inclined to replace it
with another score display that's just going to burn out again.
Also on the same note does anyone know where I can find a replacement
playing field (or playing field sticker) for a Space Invaders pinball?
Again I'm not all that concerned with how original it is vs. how it looks
when I'm done... Anything beats the old and worn look. :)
Thanks!
Matt
Putting an overlay on a playfield is lot of work. Best bet is to try to
find a used PF on eBay or the newsgroup.

email sent....
received it today.... oh boy, oh boy, oh boy......
LED replacement displays ARE available for older Ballys like Space Invaders
as well as many others. You can check out the technology at www.pinled.com.
As noted on their website, they're available at www.bayareaamusements.com.
But I agree with Don that there seems to be a good supply of used displays
and they're often fixable. I'm pretty sure I've even seen NOS display tubes,
though not complete NOS score units with the display tubes and driver board.
Keep in mind that your Space Invaders may have spent years on location
turned on 12+ hours per day, so if you repair or replace the displays you
may get many more years of service a home environment where the machine is
only powered up for a few hours per month. As Don mentioned, Clay's site at
www.marvin3m.com/fix has a wealth of information on repairing display tubes.
As far as Playfield Overlays for Space Invaders, I agree with Don that it's
a big job. If you really want to undertake this project, contact me offline
and I may be able to help you find a Space Invaders overlay.
