Scott Gordon is a very SR recruiter. SHAME on him for making recruiters look bad by not providing more information about his amazing PHP job.
I am working on 3 fulltime positions for a client in west Nashville. This group operates separate from the business unit which gives them a ton of control over their projects.
They are looking for problem solvers who are well versed in OO programming concepts. (specifically with PHP) Any experience with OO frameworks (Zend, Symfony, CakePHP, etc) is highly
desired. The manager is open to candidates Junior to Senior. He is willing to train eager, young developers. These positions are open because of pure growth. Most of the work will all
be new development. He will interview and hire immediately. Contact me directly for more info!

Alathea S. Thompson SENIOR RECRUITER

I've been recruiting in Software and Hardware Development for almost
15 years. I've placed mostly senior developers and VP's in startups
in Silicon Valley. That graphic chip that is powering your iPhone; I
placed the engineer at ATI that designed it.
The post wasn't meant to be a "job posting" more of a shout out. I
put postings up on job boards, not discussion boards.
I see no problem with a quick message about something that I have
available. If someone is interested in getting more details, a
response and way to contact each other is much more personal.
As for Alathea bashing Mr Gordon, read the thread before jumping on
someone. And who made you the posting police anyway.
If I had more details on the position, I would gladly post them. As
to why many recruiters won't include company names in their postings,
that is simple. Other recruiters will poach companies or candidates
will try and bypass the recruiter.
I always divulge the client over the phone and never via email unless
I have a long term relationship with the candidate. Jobs and
companies are as different as the candidates looking for work.
Buzzwords and BS don't tell the story, but a good conversation can.
Good recruiting is building relationships and I have yet to have a
meaningful relationship by email. A phone call is a must in this
business.
Now, back to your regularly scheduled programming.

Not reading the thread doesn't help the recruiter case either. :P
(Scott just responded, someone else started it.)
