Well, guess John Bolton just pissed his seersuckers. Either Israeli
leadership has totally gone off its rocker, or they have lost control
of their own military. From all accounts the killing of at least 3 UN
observers is reportedly deliberate.

At this point, it seems that Israel has no military objective beyond a
fear and terror campaign, but the US sits on its hands. Indeed, Condi
seems pleased with the status quo as she mutters about "change in
middle east".

I await the Syrian escalation...

Rant ensues:

How about getting their two soldiers returned? Remember whence this chapter
began, that forces, whose primary and centuries old objective is to
eradicate every Jew on the planet (deal with it), came across the Israeli
border and made off with two Israeli soldiers?

Daddy says that men are mean but women are cruel. That must be true because
I simply do not understand a gentleman's war with rules of engagement, don't
understand it at all. If all that magnificent human reason and intellect
fails, if some group so pisses off me and mine that there is no reasoning
left, leaving war as the only solution, then you can bet that if *I* declare
war, there won't be any rules, no survivors in my wake, not a man, woman,
child, or tree. William Tecumseh Sherman and Nathan Bedford Forrest got it
just right. *Gentlemanly* wars have scarred humanity since God formed the
clay for *intelligent* mankind. Perhaps this is why it has been so
necessary for men to try to keep women in the backseat. Take no prisoners.
Give no quarter. Clue: That's what War is! All this nambiepambie, oh he
did a nono, makes me want to puke. It's war, if you are going to have the
stones to declare it, then go in and destroy the enemy and be done with it.
If we are so intelligent, there should never be war. **Reason should
rule.** Humans are the most violent, frightening creatures that roam this
planet. What if squirrels or groundhogs or alligators or copperheads or any
other mammal or reptile went after their own species like humans do? What
would we think? We'd think, we gotta kill 'em! At least we are consistent
for that is what we do to with own.

And yet people feign such horror at the notion that an elephant, that was
trained through pain and domination, turns and lashes in fear at someone
coming at her from the side where her eye is swollen shut.

I find my own species increasingly disgusting.

Everybody keep his/her hands to him/herself and stay where you belong and
leave everybody else's person and property alone. Behave, by God!

Well, we could just keep working toward removing the horrors
of war, and maybe someday we can reach the enlightened level
of eliminating the destruction completely, fighting our wars
by computer simulation, and dealing with casualties in a
polite, civilized manner (allowing them 24 hours to get their
affairs in order and say goodbye, before reporting to disposal
chambers). With no remaining horrors (other than a nice, clean
loss of life/population control) of war, why should we even
worry about diplomacy? Just declare unending war on any who
disagree with us on which fork is supposed to be used for the
salad!

It was confirmed in Emails from the Canadian Peace Keeper there,
that Hezbollah, was deliberately setting up shop next to the UN Peace
Keeping Observation Outpost, in an attempt to not get hit, or to force
Israel to retaliate and hit the post. When you triangulate incoming
mortar Fire, Rocket Launches, Missile Launches, you have to return fire
on that position, before the mobile launcher has time to be moved to
another area, and its much easier to triangulate and confirm the
position with short range rockets, and so you're return fire has to be
fast, so you can take out the danger to your citizen's lives, less you
forget, Hezbollah, killed two Palestinian Boys in Nazareth with their
rockets.

Saddam put his mobile units next to civilian homes. The Serbs did
the same thing in Bosnia, copying from Saddam's play book, and yet you
didn't have this same Media outrage or UN outrage for that matter. So
it comes as no surprise that these cowards are putting their rocket
launchers next to civilian homes, nor next to UN Observation posts. The
Canadian Prime Minister doesn't blame Israel, and is asking why UN
Observers were ordered kept in the middle of a war zone -
http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/story/RTGAM.20060727.wxharper27/BNStory/International/home.

You had confirmation from CNN reporters today, that the Hezbollah were
dressing in civilian clothes, western style clothes, and even the head
of Hezbollah arrived in Syria today in a Mercedes Benz dressed more like
something out of GQ, than the Sheik Garb he has been wearing on
International TV.

This is the same propaganda practiced by the Vietcong 40 years
ago; put your insurgents in the middle of civilians, and then use the
psychological propaganda in the International Media, to get the
LEFTARDS, and their MUSH guzzlers, to blame the enforcers, and not the
criminals themselves.

Nice way to react Maxo; see you're still guzzling the MUSH
propaganda siphon fed you by the drive-by LEFTARD Media and the UN
(Useless Nations - http://www.captainsquartersblog.com/mt/)! If the UN
had any backbone, instead of being bough and paid for by the terrorist,
the state-sponsors, and the arms funneled coalition of Russia, and
China, they might have been able to enforce the UN resolution calling
for the disarming of Hezbollah, and its funny to hear Democrats now
whine that Bush didn't help enforce this, when they bitched like crazy
about him enforcing the UN Resolutions to disarm Saddam:
---------------
Rep. Jane Harman (D-CA) and Council on Foreign Relations' Richard Haas
were on "Face the Nation."

Harman: "And had our government acted in 2004 to enforce Resolution
1559, we might not now have this Hezbollah problem.
http://hotlineblog.nationaljournal.com/archives/2006/07/hotlines_sunday.html
---------------

It's not nice for the Democrats for the Fall Elections when it
comes to National Security and the War on Terror. One the one hand, you
have Democrats blasting Israel for going into Lebanon, but then you have
the same party blasting the Prime Minister of Iraq (and remember, they
wanted an independent Iraq, not just a puppet of the administration) for
supporting Hezbollah! LEFTARD is just the right adjective to describe
them all. They thought they could just turn inward and deal with
Domestic Policy after the collapse of Communism in Europe. They had no
idea or plan to deal with the other dangers that were still out there,
nor did they want to. Clinton's pulling out of Somalia set the stage of
the Islamo Fascists to gamble on us being too weak to stay the course,
and figured, if they killed enough of our people, and scared us, we'd
soon give up, and head back home!

That was exquisite, Paul, but, really, wouldn't 48 hours be more sporting?
:-/

Doesn't it just give you a warm, fuzzy feeling to know that there are
"peacekeepers" in the midst of that melee?

"The United Nations decided to remove 50 observers from the Israeli-Lebanon
border, locating them instead at posts with 2,000 lightly armed U.N.
peacekeepers. The move comes days after Israeli bombs hit a U.N. observer
station, killing four."
http://dailynews.att.net/cgi-bin/news?e=pub&dt=060728&cat=news&st=newsd8j53og80&src=ap

It makes it so much more genteel that the *peacekeepers* are but *lightly
armed.* Fifty observers? I am reminded of Manassas, The First, 145 years
ago last week.

"The battle, which took place only 30 miles from Washington, D.C., drew a
crowd of hundreds of civilian men, women, and children, with picnic baskets
and high spirits, to view the battle from a nearby hillside. Believing the
Confederacy could quickly be crushed with little loss of life, Union forces
invaded the South only to be routed in a battle that would set the bloody
tone for the grueling four years to follow. The festival atmosphere among
onlookers quickly changed as the bloodshed began...."

I seem to recall an incident where our troops were sent in
as "peacekeepers", and an officer was quoted as stating that
instead of the hostile ethnic groups shooting each other in
the valley that was now occupied by the peacekeeping forces,
they were standing on the ridges on either side and shooting
at each other - over the heads of the "peacekeepers".

Then Mr. Wonderful, how come you've never confronted old Nobel
prize winin' peace lovin' Jimmae about beatin' the killer bees nest with
a broom, and then trying to declare a truce afterward? Or have you
forgotten:
---------------
Former President Jimmy Carter has called the recent Palestinian voting
"a beautiful election" and said "there's a good chance" that Hamas will
reject violence.

Those comments raised the dander of radio's No. 1 talk show host Rush
Limbaugh, who said they were "no surprise, coming from a man who has
never missed a chance at appeasement."

Rush went further, blasting Carter for his frequent criticism of the
Bush administration's handling of various problems.

"The irony is that President Bush wouldn't have to deal with these
problems if Carter hadn't created them," Rush writes in the Limbaugh
Letter.

Rush makes these points:

There would be no flap over domestic wiretapping if Carter hadn't signed
the "patently unconstitutional" 1978 law requiring the president to get
a warrant to conduct surveillance within the U.S.

"According to the Constitution, the president is commander-in-chief; no
sitting president has the authority to surrender those powers," Limbaugh
stated. "But Jimmy Carter did."

Until the Carter administration, the CIA had been paying off the mullahs
in Iran who opposed the shah, an American ally. Carter ordered these
payments stopped.

"You remember the rest: The storming of the embassy, the botched rescue
attempt, and murder on a scale that made the shah look like Mr. Rogers,"
Rush reports.

Limbaugh quotes Charles Scott, an Army attaché at the American embassy
in Iran, who said: "Iran walked away with no cost in blood or treasure.
It was a green light to terrorists worldwide - a sign that the U.S. will
let you off scot-free. That's the reason for the birth of organizations
like al-Qaida."

Carter's perceived weakness emboldened the Soviet Union to invade
Afghanistan - "the end result of which was the Taliban," Rush noted.

"Another consequence of the shah's fall was the Iran-Iraq war. Thanks to
that, Saddam invaded Kuwait. Which brought us Desert Storm, which was a
catalyst for Osama bin Laden."

What's more, Iran - "now being led by one of the thugs who held our
people hostage - is about to go nuclear."

Rush concludes: "In short, Jimmy Carter was a disaster, and after one
term the American people chucked him back to the peanut farm."

How does being commander-in-chief give the president the power
to act as 'big brother'? The Constitution laid out a government
based on checks and balances that would prevent any one
person/group from gaining too much power. Remember that the
founding fathers wrote the document after rebelling against
a king - they had no need for another one, who would rule by
'executive decree'.
