Hello, is there a problem if I create an item manually, or should I
always use the command? What about binary items? Do I need to "tell"
nanoc I added a binary item?
Also, a somewhat related question, using nanoc create_item. How do I
specify the extension?

Thanks.

Hi Diego,

You can definitely simply create your items by hand. There’s no need to use the create_item command, and you don’t need to tell nanoc that you’ve added a new item either. This applies to both textual and binary items.

There is no way to specify the extension when using the create_item and create_layout commands.

In fact, I don’t use the create_item and create_layout commands at all… if I were re-creating nanoc, I would probably leave them out. :)

Cheers

Denis
