Markdown to nanoc syntax - not to final html

Would anyone happen to know of a gem that can convert from markdown TO nanoc3 syntax? or know if nanoc can do that itself? I see on the site that nanoc can convert markdown to HTML like it does with its own syntax, just not finding anything about converting directly to nanoc syntax structure from Markdown. Basically looking for either a middleman gem that will do this, or instructions on how to make nanoc do that.
