Welcome to the NAACL-Latin American discussion group!

NAACL is the Chapter of the Association for Computational Linguistics for the Americas. This discussion group is meant to be a forum to make announcements and have discussions about the NLP and Computational Linguistics community in Latin America.

As many of you know NAACL has maintained a Registry of Latin American Researchers in Computational LInguistics and Natural Language Processing since 2002. If you are not a member of the Registry, please join!

However, the Registry is primarily a "read only" resource, and while this remains an important source of information, it doesn't offer a convenient means for distributing information or carrying on discussions. As such, this discussion group is meant to offer that forum for discussion and announcements, in hopes of more closely integrating the Latin American research community and NAACL.

Please feel free to participate actively in this group, and you are welcome to post in English, Spanish, or Portuguese (whichever seems most appropriate). Also, please note that this group will be NAACL's primary mechanism for making announcements of particular interest to Latin American researchers, so please subscribe!
