Welcome to the all new WOT:Web of Trust Google Group!  This group is designed to help promote WOT, and allow the users of WOT to better work together and create a safer web, through user based projects, and discussions.

Don't know what WOT is?

In case you're new, WOT, created by Against Intuition Inc. is a browser add-on for both Firefox and Internet Explorer that determines the safety of a website through user testimonials, as well as help from blacklists and trusted sources. In addition to protecting you from websites with viruses and spyware, it also protects you from online scams, inaccuracies, and websites with inappropriate content. You can adjust your settings to allow, or block any, or all of these types of threats, by choosing the category or categories you wish to have blocked, or be warned about. They are: Trustworthiness, Privacy, Vendor Reliability, and Child safety.

How WOT works is this: Let's say you come across an online scam, or maybe just a website that delivers lots of spam. You have the power to rate the website unsafe, so that users in the future will know as well. To keep it fair and accurate, it is a meritocracy. In other words, your first rating will have no effect. The more websites you rate others agree with, the more your individual rating makes an impact in the future.

As for current users of WOT, feel free to post on discussion boards, upload files, and edit the WOT Wiki. Encourage friends to join, edit the WOT brochure, or check out the WOT fanpage! The possibilites are endless, so what are you waiting for? We all work together to create projects, and launch user only discussions, to help expand WOT, and computer security in general.

And the more you do, the higher this group will be on google search results, and our knowledge about security will be expanded. So start becoming an active member of the WOT community, and create a safer web.
