1. Activating the Gps and mytracks will produce this error every time regardless of Gps cache reset etc.
All other Gps related app's work flawlessly, Locus Pro, google Maps, Gps status etc.
The program constantly states "Waiting for a better GPS Fix. Make sure that the sky is visible" the program states this even when I have an accurate Gps signal confirmed by Gps status.
When pressing the My location button the message "GPS is not available. An approximate location based on mobile towers and WI-FI networks" is shown, This leads me to believe that the program is not detecting the phones Gps unit.
Using MyTracks Ver 1.1.13, Cyanogenmod 7.1.0 Jordan(Stable), Motorola Defy mb525.
Similar case with issue 708 (also version 1.1.13) but my problem happens on a Sony Ericcson Xperia X8. the X8 runs GPS Essentials and Navdroyd flawlessly, and also, I have another android phone (Samsung Galaxy Y) right beside it and My Track works flawlessly on that phone.
I have same issue with an LG P-999 Optimus 2gx. My tracks does not use the GPS senors built into the phone. Lots of other apps including google apps use the GPS sensor just fine.

Same issue with HTC Desire (bravo) and version 1.1.16. Last time I recorded a track successfully was with version 1.1.10. I can't say for versions in between, I didn't use the application during this time.
When My Tracks starts a recording, there should be a system GPS icon on the
status bar. Can someone let me know if the system GPS icon indicates
whether GPS is available or not.
Thanks
Same behavior as described by mickeywi...@gmail.com on a Motorola Defy+
with Android 2.3.6 .
The GPS-Icon in the Android Statusbar indicates, that there is a GPS-Fix
(the Icon is solid, not blinking, but Mytracks constantly states "Waiting
for a better GPS Fix."
Pressing the My Location Button produces the same Message "GPS not
available...", but my location is shown in the map (small blue circel) with
very good accuracy (5-6 meters).
Also if i start a recording, the track is ok and recorded with the same
good accuracy.
I think, MyTracks is using the correct position data given by the API
(position and recorded tracks are ok), but the GPS-Status given by the API
is not the real GPS-Staus. Maybe a bad implementation of the API on some
Android-Devices or in some Android-Versions.
I have tested this on two different devices (Defy+ and Huawei Ideos X3)
with the same result
