I posted this as a ticket on GitHub before I saw this group. Sorry
for the duplication ...

I've set up MythBoxee (nightly build) to access my MythTV 0.23.1
(MythDora) backend. I'm using the XML stream method. I can't use SMB
because I have two storage groups. When I try to play a TV episode on
a Windows 7 system, I get only a pure white screen and no sound. On my
Ubuntu system, I get a black screen. I can play other content in
Boxee. This only happens in Mythboxee.

Is there any other information I can provide to help resolve this?

Interesting, that is the first time I have heard of anything like that
happening.

XML has been pretty unreliable as of late for a valid way of
streaming, however recently I believe I found a way to improve it with
the help of some guys from the MythTV project.

I have to go back into my notes and dig out the settings we had to
change on the MythTV back to make it work properly and then I'll post
them here on this list.

Hopefully we can get your issues resolved soon.

Mhddfs doesn't appear to be available for Fedora, so it doesn't look
like I can do this. I have a MythDora backend.

Have you tried boxee + mythboxee on another OS other than win 7 with
your mythtv setup to rule out win7?

I haven't looked at the log yet.

Yes, I've tried it on Ubuntu 10.10. There, it gets a totally black
screen (instead of white), but still no picture and no audio. And
other functions of Boxee work fine on that platform, too. So I don't
think the problem is tied to the o/s or to boxee itself.

mhddfs dir1,dir2.. mountpoint [ -o OPTIONS ]

OPTIONS:
mlimit=xxx - limit of the disk free space (if the disk
has the free space more than specified - it is
considered as the empty one). Default is 4Gb,
but 100Mb at least.
logfile=/path/to/file - path to a file where the logs
will be stored.
loglevel=x - level for log-messages:
0 - debug
1 - info
2 - default messages

see fusermount(1) for information about other options

you need a few other devel packages as well, see how you go.
