I can drag and drop an email into MLO (just started using MLO in trial
mode). The Outlook ID link gets created within the task notes. I can
test the link and most times it will work just fine the first time.
After several minutes, with or without having moved the email into an
archive folder within the same data file in Outlook, I receive the
Outlook error message 'The Operation Failed'. That is the FULL
message. There is nothing more in the error message than what I just
mentioned. Sometimes I can click the link in MLO with success, even
after having moved the email in Outlook, but it always stops working
after I go back in a few minutes or later. I have found no way and
repairing the link after it breaks with the error.

I am running Outlook 2007 in Exchange mode, so the emails are in the
OST instead of PST file.

Unfortunately in Exchange mode Outlook may change the mail message IDs
at any moment and MLO could not find them anymore.

So a solution would be to move the email to a local PST file, then
drag to MLO. This would maintain the links? The emails are already
being archived anyway, just in the OST file. There is really no
difference in moving to the PST, except that I would not see these
emails on my other Outlook installs configured for the same Exchange
account.

Sound workable?
