I'd like my Todo Views to keep the same displayed columns rather than have the same displayed columns all the time.  Is there an option for this?

For example, I'd like one view that includes Due Date, and one that doesn't.  The one without is for my new Mimo USB mini-monitor :)

Can you explain a bit more what you want, Lisa.

You should be able to create up different columns sets for each of
your ToDo views and MLO should retain these.

The reason I ask this is that I think there may be a bug in MLO
whereby the custom column settings for each of the ToDo views are not
always being retained.

I have been corresponding with Andrey about this (and posted a while
back about it) but as I am the only person who seems to be having this
problem, he has not yet been able to track down the source of the
problem.

If you are seeing similar problem, could you post a description?

Thanks

Very strange.  I KNOW it wasn't retained the last time I tried.....but now it is being retained.

Ok, I FIGURED IT OUT...

The problem is not that columns aren't being saved, but they are being saved all the time without me telling them to be saved.

Expected behavior:
- When I change a view (including columns), I get a * next to the view name, indicating it has been changed.  If I say, "Save Settings..." and type a new name, the new settings are in the new name, but then I can switch back to and reset the old view.

Current behavior: The view is changed as soon as I remove/add the column, whether I use "Save settings" or not.  So if I modify a view, and then Save Settings with a new name, they both have the new behavior.

Workaround is easy, of course.  Create the new view, and then change the columns.

Yes - I was also confused by this behaviour.   As far as I can see, when you change the column settings for a ToDo view, they are saved automatically.   For example, if you add a new column to a view,  a star appears against the file name in the title bar but not against the view name - so you don't need to save the view.

My experience has been that provided you save the file,  the adjusted view will still be there when you restart MLO.   But that if you save and exit, leave MLO for a while and then restart,  the view will have reverted back to the default (Due Date and Icons).   But the only view that is affected is the ToDo view that was current at the time of exit.   Other ToDo views retain their custom column settings.

It is all very odd.

I would be very interested to know whether anybody else is seeing this behaviour.

Yes, I can confirm the same behaviour and I'm starting to be annoyed
with this issue. Today I found that when I try to import my previously
saved settings of columns, the imported view shows the base settings
only again. The only way I find is to save correct settings twice, use
the first one, and when the problems occurs, use the second copy of
the view and create the another one and so on. But it's annoying a
bit.
It seems to me that the problem occurs when I reboot my computer. I'm
not sure but I suspect that when I exit the aplication before I
reboot, the settings remains correct.

thanks,
Jiri
