Quarterly Tasks - how to set up

Need some advice on how to set up some repeating quarterly tasks.

I have several Tasks, well actually they are Quarterly Reports, that
need completing every , um, Quarter. So ideally I would like to set up
a Recurrence for the Task every 3 months. Each Task has a lead time of
around 3-4 weeks and I would very much like an alarm to pop-up to
remind me to do this.

I have set the recurrence to the last Thursday of every 3 months with
a lead time of 4 weeks. But how to get the Reminder to pop-up at the
start of this lead-time?

Is this the right approach for these sort of tasks?

I don't see why this won't work. All you will need to do is set the reminder for the start of the initial lead time.  So 3-4 weeks prior to the due date of the task.  Once the task recurs, the reminder should also recur and set itself dependant on the current settings. I just tried a 3 monthly task with a reminder the day before, I just skipped the current occurrence to see what happened. The task was scheduled for 3 months ahead of time, the reminder was schedule for the prior day as it was initially set and using the time I originally specified.
