Here are the installation instructions of MLO-PPC FINAL only for those
who previously installed BETA version.
You do not need these instructions if you are installing MLO-PPC first
time of updating it from version 1.6.4 or later.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR THOSE WHO ARE USING MLO-PPC *BETA*.
PPC Side:
---------------
1. Important! Copy MLO-PPC beta cleanup utility
(http://www.mylifeorganized.net/downloads/files/beta/MLOCleanUp.exe) to
your device first.
This is very important step because after uninstalling of MLO-PPC-Beta
your device can lose connection with ActiveSync and you would need to
recreate the partnership.
2. Uncradle your device.
3. Important! Perform soft reset of your PocketPC. This will
release system dll which is used in Today->New: command (MLO Rapid Task
Entry dialog).
4. Uninstall MLO-PocketPC from your device
(Start->Settings->System->Remove Programs)
5. Cradle your device.
6. Should you have any problems connecting your device to Active
Sync run MLO-PPC beta cleanup utility. If there is no problems just go
to
the next step
7. Run mlo-ppc-setup.exe on the desktop and follow the
instructions.
8. Uncradle your device
Desktop side
-------------------
1. Uncradle your device and close ActiveSync window. (This is a
necessary step to release all the dlls used by ActiveSync Manager).
2. Uninstall MLO ActiveSync Desktop Provider (previously installed
by mlo-desktop-ActiveSync-setup.exe). It is not needed to uninstall MLO
application.
3. Run MLO-Evaluation-Setup.exe. ActiveSync Desktop provider is
now integrated to this main installation.
4. On the Components page of the installation wizard make sure
that "Main Program Files" and "ActiveSync Provider" are checked.
5. Click Next and follow the instructions.
6. Cradle your device
7. In ActiveSync window select Tools->Options and check MLOSync
8. Make sure that file mappings are preserved.
9. Perform Sync as usual.
If your file mappings are not configured follow these instructions:
MLO SYNC CONFIGURATION
1. Uncradle and cradle the device so that the newly installed
components were recognized by ActiveSync manager.
2. Open Active Sync dialog on desktop, click menu Tools->Options
and make sure the MLOSync is checked on Sync Options tab.
3. Select MLOSync and click Settings button
4. Define the pairs of MLO files to be synchronized. To do so,
please click File Mappings button in the MLOSync Settings Dialog and
define the file pairs and synchronization options.
For example here are the steps of how to sync your desktop file
MyTasks.ml to new file on MLO-PPC:
4.1. In Add New Mapping group select MyTasks.ml as a Desktop file
4.2. In Device file combo box. select <New File...>
4.3. Enter folder and file name to create new file on PPC
4.4. Click Add Mapping and then OK
5. If you check the Enable logging check box in the MLOSync
Settings Dialog this will turn on MLO ActiveSync logging on both
desktop and PPC side. Note: the speed of sync is slower with Log
enabled.
6. Uncradle and cradle the device so that the newly installed
components were recognized by ActiveSync manager.
