Opening my maps

Hi,

I can see my maps in list format but when i want the information to populate on a map it loads the iphone map program which does not recognize my map. How do i have it load google maps instead? What is the easiest way for me to see my maps? The iphone is new to me. On my blackberry i would go to layers then more layers then my maps and could load anyone of the maps or multiple maps at tge same time. Please help.
