  Don&#39;t know. Everything worked for me last time I tried it with &lt;br&gt; Safari. Don&#39;t remember if it was 3.0 or 4.0 but I tested Mac and &lt;br&gt; Windows successfully at one point. Are you getting an error? &lt;br&gt; &lt;p&gt;I&#39;&#39;ll load it up in 4.0 when I get a chance...

  Effects which use clipping will probably not work in IE8. Clip styles &lt;br&gt; are implemented without commas, which is apparently illegal in IE8 &lt;br&gt; (except in compatibility modes), though reports are conflicting. &lt;br&gt; &lt;p&gt;If a problem exists, the test for a comma in the computed (cascaded in &lt;br&gt; IE) clip style of a created element would seem the best indicator.

  For me, yes. At least at the time I wrote this code. Didn&#39;t want to &lt;br&gt; use the - in - operator due to compatibility concerns. Not really a &lt;br&gt; concern today (or then unless you wanted to support everything ever &lt;br&gt; made.) &lt;br&gt; &lt;p&gt;Should be documented though.
