Rendering of book titles: "==title==" vs. "== title =="

Hi all,

I hope this hasn't been reported before - I couldn't see anything on
the list or on the bug tracker. On the book definition page, if the
title is given as

==title==

it is not printed in the pdf. If the title is given as

== title ==

(including spaces), the it is printed.
