Everyone,
I’m sorry to harp on this again (this is the last email you’ll get from me on this subject), but this is critical information for any team sending riders to CX Nationals.
In order to race at the event, riders must present a valid 2012 Collegiate license. In order to purchase a 2012 license, though, your collegiate TEAM needs to be renewed and in good standing for 2012 (check this list: http://usacycling.org/clubs/index.php?org=Collegiate&st=&club=&order=date_exp). This should be taken care of immediately, because in order to renew your club, you need someone from your school to sign off on this form and send it to us (keep in mind that many schools will be closed, as will our offices, for the holidays): http://www.usacycling.org/forms/collegiate/CollClubEligibility.pdf
So, to race at Cyclocross Nationals:
1) Your team must be registered for 2012 with USA Cycling (see below)
2) You must have a 2012 USA Cycling Collegiate License
3) You must be a Category A CX rider that has qualified through your conference if it held a season
4) You must have proof from your school that you are indeed a full time student in good standing with the form provided at http://bit.ly/drcgLm, do this BEFORE THE REGISTRAR CLOSES for winter break.
5) You must pre-register for nationals before it closes on at 9:59 pm MST 12/28/11. There is NO day-of registration.
Please let me know if you have questions.
Best,
Jeffrey Hansen

Subject: Club Membership Renewal!
Team leaders,
On Thursday, 2012 USA Cycling licenses will go on sale (which will be required for participation at Cyclo-cross Nationals), but in order to purchase a 2012 license, your club’s membership must first be renewed. Of the 300 collegiate clubs in the U.S., only 55 have renewed so far for 2012. A list of all clubs and their current expiration dates are listed at http://usacycling.org/clubs/index.php?org=Collegiate&st=&club=&order=date_exp. If your club doesn’t list December 31, 2012 as the expiration date, you should renew your club membership RIGHT NOW! You don’t want your club members emailing you and nagging you to renew when they can’t buy their licenses, so take care of this before you leave school for the semester!
Information on how to do this can be found in the email below. If you never received the email (sent a few weeks back), you are probably not listed as a club contact. You can have another officer list you, or contact membe...@usacycling.org to have us add your name to the club account. Once that’s done, you can renew online.
Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks everyone!
Best,
Jeffrey Hansen

Dear collegiate clubs,
It is time to renew your club memberships for 2012! Starting December 1, riders will be able to purchase collegiate licenses for 2012, but first your collegiate club membership must be renewed and in good standing. The renewal process is simple, and costs only $50 (keep in mind that most college club sports departments pay for National Governing Body dues such as these, so check with your school to see if they can cover this cost).
There are two ways to renew your club's membership:
By renewing your club, you will also be able to begin the permit process for races in the 2012 Collegiate Road season. Be sure to check out the Hosting a Collegiate Race page, and talk to your Conference Director or USA Cycling Membership Services Coordinator with questions.
IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING CYCLO-CROSS: In order to race in the 2012 USA Cycling Collegiate Cyclo-cross National Championships in Madison, WI, in January, riders must hold a 2012 Collegiate Cycling license. In order to purchase a 2012 Collegiate license, however, your club must be renewed and in good standing with USA Cycling. That means that if you have riders wishing to attend the event, you MUST renew your club before the event. Do this now to avoid headaches later!
*If you are a club president or officer and do not see that link on your account page, contact another or former officer and have them add you. If that isn’t an option for you, contact membe...@usacycling.org, and ask them to add you as an officer on your club’s account.
Please let me know if you have any questions about this process. Thanks!

Jeffrey Hansen
