Using MVPA on structural data

I am curious about what the MVPA's strength is when applied to structural data, i.e. with VBM, DTI or cortical thickness.  What's MVPA's strength compared with global VBM technique? 

Do you have some good ideas or envision of its usage with structural data? 

Do you have any suggestion on additional reading?
