Any interest in generic/typesafe controls?

I've created controls based on Microsoft.Web.Mvc.Controls that are
typesafe, using lambda accessors and type data from the model.

Would there be any interest in this for mvccontrib? I know a lot of
people are against controls, but they really are nice for separating
HTML code from C# code, and with typesafe controls you get all the
speed and compilation benefits.

If there's no interest, no problem, I'll simply start a new project on
codeplex. Thanks!

We really need more information but we have taking most contributions as long as they meet the development standards. Do you have any blog posts or could post some samples of what the usage of the controls look like?

No offence, but that sends shivers down my spine.  I'm sure a lot of people moving from WebForms to mvc may find this useful, but to me one of the main driving points of MVC.net is getting away from controls like these.

As soon as you drop it on your view, your already constraineing what you can do with the layout.

Constraining what you can do with the layout? I'm not sure that makes
any sense, there's nothing you can't do with controls that you can do
with <%= %>.

Obviously the advantages to controls are numerous - they can be viewed
in template editing software (such as visual studio) because a
<mvc:literal> is a visible control. It'll even tell you the name of
the member it should be displaying, and display it in the correct CSS
style. Try that with <%= %>
