  Call for Papers: Song and Dance &lt;br&gt; Harvard Graduate Music Forum &lt;br&gt; The Harvard Graduate Music Forum is pleased to announce that its Seventh Interdisciplinary Graduate Student Conference on the theme of Song and Dance will take place at Harvard University on Saturday, February 27, 2010. We invite graduate students across all disciplines to submit proposals and to interpret this theme broadly and creatively. Historical, theoretical, analytical, ethnographical, and other critical approaches that deal with any aspect of song and/or dance are welcome.

  <summary type="html" xml:space="preserve">
  Verdi Forum invites the submission of articles on all aspects of music and culture related to the life and works of Giuseppe Verdi. The editor welcomes not only traditional source, analytical, and performance practice studies but also interdisciplinary contributions. &lt;br&gt; Under the sponsorship of the American Institute for Verdi Studies, Verdi Forum has published essays, documents, and conference proceedings, which have contributed meaningfully to the scholarly literature on Verdi. The journal is a peer-reviewed publication, edited by Roberta Montemorra Marvin, with associate editors Andreas Giger and Steven Huebner, assistant editor Francesco Izzo, and reviews editor, Denise Gallo, as well as an editorial board of international scholars who, along with external readers, review articles under consideration.

  The School of Music - Conservatorium, Monash University, will host a conference on British Music from Friday 17 September to Sunday 19 September 2010 at Monash’s Clayton Campus in Victoria, Australia. &lt;br&gt; The conference welcomes papers exploring any aspect of British music and musical life in any period. Papers are particularly encouraged which discuss forgotten or less-explored repertoire and composers. Without limiting the remit of the conference, areas of investigation may include British writings about music, reception of British music abroad, ‘foreign’ composers resident in Britain, music broadcasting and concert life in Britain, and intersections between music and literature, politics, modernism, postmodernism, nationalism, and colonialism.

  The second annual UCM New Music Festival will be held April 10-11, 2010 at the University of Central Missouri. We invite scholars to submit papers or proposals for panel sessions on topics related to music since 1945 to be considered for presentation at the conference. All composers may submit scores to be considered for performance on the festival. Submissions from composers who can supply their own performers are encouraged. Electronic, electroacoustic, acousmatic, and multimedia works are also strongly encouraged (maximum 8.1 format + optional video; see website for list of available technology).
