University of North Texas –Assistant Professor in Music History. Full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor; salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Responsibilities: to publish consistently in the aforementioned area of specialty; to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in European baroque music, to teach undergraduate courses in the music core curriculum and/or courses for the non-major, with likely assignment to participation in the Honors College; to advise doctoral dissertations, documents for the DMA, and masters and undergraduate theses; to carry out service at the level of the division, college, and university. The successful candidate will be expected to collaborate with faculty members from other divisions within the College, especially those involved with the CoM’s award-winning program in early music performance.
Qualifications: Ph.D. or equivalent degree in musicology/music history by time of appointment; record of significant research in European Baroque music and evidence of effective teaching.
Start date: August 2010.
