JOBS: Bowling Green State University, two tenure-track positions in musicology: 17th- and/or 18th-century western art music; western art music after 1945

Bowing Green State University (Department of Musicology/Composition/Theory) announces the following two faculty positions in musicology:

1. 17th- and/or 18th-century Western art music
Qualifications:
--Ph.D. in musicology by May 2011.
--Demonstrated research ability in 17th- and/or 18th-century Western art music as evidenced by significant publications, presentations and participation in professional organizations; secondary expertise in critical theory, aesthetics, popular music or performance.
--Demonstrated successful teaching experience at the college level.

2. Western Art Music after 1945
Qualifications:
--Ph.D. in musicology by May 2011.
--Demonstrated research ability in Western art music after 1945 as evidenced by significant publications, presentations and participation in professional organizations; secondary expertise in critical theory, aesthetics, interdisciplinary studies, cultural studies or globalization.
--Demonstrated successful teaching experience at the college level.

Position titles: Assistant Professor (Musicology). Tenure-track.

Major Responsibilities: The primary responsibilities of these positions include teaching music history on the graduate and undergraduate levels; recruiting graduate students; and contributing to the artistic and intellectual environment of the college and the university. Additional duties may be assigned by the department chair and/or dean.

Finalists for the position will be asked to submit three current (dated within one year) letters of reference; representative research and teaching materials; and an official transcript showing the highest degree earned.
