Hi, do you know ISNI (http://www.isni.org/index.html) ?

They work on the unique name identifier problem which can be very useful for MO
in order to link artists for instance.

It is an ISO draft.(ISO 27729)

Best regards.

Hello!

At first glance, it looks fairly similar to ISRCs - do you know what
the difference is?

Best,

According to wikipedia :

The International Standard Name Identifier (ISNI) is a method for uniquely identifying the public identities of contributors to media content such as books, TV programmes and newspaper articles.

The International Standard Recording Code (ISRC), defined by ISO 3901, is an international standard code for uniquely identifying sound recordings and music video recordings.

So the goal of ISNI is to identify names (authors, composers, artists, ..) while ISRC is responsible for referencing records itselves..

Cool, so it can identify a foaf:Agent - probably in FOAF land then.
Dan, what do you think? Does it belong to FOAF?

Cheers,
