Either '/home/hutty/apps/roms/sm64.z64' doesn't exist or your current user
doesn't have the necessary rights to read it. This doesn't seem to be a
mupen64plus problem.
Please do following and show the complete output
$ ls -l /home/hutty/apps/roms/sm64.z64
$ id
$ sudo chmod a+r /home/hutty/apps/roms/sm64.z64
$ mupen64plus /home/hutty/apps/roms/sm64.z64
