Hi,

I am planning on keeping a Ubuntu Global Jam in Mumbai on 8th and 9th September, 2012. Timings will be 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on both the days. In addition, we can have a very-belated Debian Day party as well on 9th Sep. Venue is not confirmed yet. But any suggestions are welcome. Also, people can plan out day-time hackathons or the like in advance etc. Bug-fixing and translations are something that I would like to personally participate in. One thing that I am trying to organise is a demo of MAAS and Juju in action on real hardware on 9th Sep. Lets see how that goes. Do you guys have any suggestions for these two days?

Best Regards,

Hi Siji,

Please spread the word. That'll help a lot. I'll keep everyone updated on the venue.

Yes please. Conduct the session on Ubuntu ARM. Will you be demonstrating on actual hardware?

Hi everyone,

Good news. The venue has been finalized: http://loco.ubuntu.com/events/indian-team/1940/detail/.

@Siji, will you be bringing your Pandaboard to demonstrate the Ubuntu 12.10 port? Can something be done using a Pandaboard and a Raspberry Pi?

Yes, I can demonstrate Ubuntu (not sure about 12.10, which I has not tried yet) on Pandaboard.I can also cover

1)Build ubuntu-arm from scratch

2)Cross compilation hacks

Yes. If possible, try for 12.10, otherwise 12.04 is good.

Yes, please cover these. Is there anything that you need, other than a projector and mike?

I need a monitor or projector which supports HDMI or DVI Input, since PandaBoard does not having VGA out.

What will be the schedule for the day? Is any other sessions are there ?

I will have to check up on the projectors. Otherwise, we will arrange for a converter.

Tentative schedule: 9:00 a.m. - Gates open.
10 a.m. to 12 p.m. - Session on Intro to FOSS, Showcase of the new features in Ubuntu Quantal and Ubuntu on ARM (Siji).
12 p.m. - 1 p.m. - Break
1 p.m. - 5 p.m. - Various Jams like translation bug / fixing etc.
