Hi everyone,

I'm working with tables and I was able to create and reference tables using the caption. However, sometimes the caption is too long or can match with other labels in the document.

Is there a way to use a label different than the caption?

Thank you in advance

Hi again,

Thank you for your fast response. Actually, I already checked the reference manual. I found this bullet related with my issue:

  • If you have a caption, you can also have a label, allowing you to create anchors pointing to the table. If there is no label, then the caption acts as the label

That makes me think that it is possible to add personalized labels. However, I'm not sure what is the proper syntax. Everything that I've tried in the caption line is converted to caption and label. How can I separate both concepts in MMD tables?

Thanks

It's the same approach that is used with headers --- adding a [label] after the [caption] (e.g. [caption][label]).

I found my mistake. It turns out that there was been a conflict with a compile-time replacement in the Scrivener replacement dialog. This setup was working (disregarding the tables) to solve a previous question in the group:

I don't know how to solve both issues at the same time but I'm sure I will figure it out.

Thanks!!!
