from my side things will become clear in next few weeks , so i should
be able to take care of some of the logistics involved.
Where do you want to any of the following could be a good starting point
Volunteers : need people for each activity
Sponsors : need to put up a website now and start talking to potential sponsors
Talks : spread the word folks will come forward
Demos,Workshops, anything else you guys can think of
Advertising : talk about it every where
by the by if its gonna be @ IIIT the management has to be taken in
confidence first , so that it does not clash with other activities in
the same time frame.
start putting all these on a wiki , begin with volunteer list , things
will evolve.

I am visiting them tomorrow to deploy Fedora Core 10, 11 repositories.
Let us finalize a date for the event, and then we can discuss on the
topics, sessions, hackathons etc.

From an initial discussion today at IIIT, Hyderabad here are some points:
* It is important for few people from the Industry to talk to
professors regarding mukt.in. Can Satyakaam, Krish coordinate this? I
might be travelling next month, so will not be in Hyderabad for a
month or so.
* Most of the conferences have been of the type "talks, talks, talks".
We would like to do an unconference with -- talks, hands-on sessions,
BoFs etc.
* First year students don't have laptops, so for hands-on will need to
use the labs. As of now, lab computers are assigned to students for
the semester, so each one uses the distro of their choice.
* Saturdays are working, so, labs might be occupied. We need to talk
to the professors to give us a Saturday for the event. Sunday can also
be used for the event. We need to decide whether we want to do it for
a single day or two days?
* Mid-term exams are in September, October, November 2009. So, please
talk to the professors first, fix a date. Then, we can decide on which
labs, seminar halls can be used for the event. The campus is big, so
it is best to choose labs, seminar halls that are close-by?
* Logistics regarding accomodation to outside speakers need to be
discussed with IIIT, faculty. IIIT can take care of Infrastructure,
logistics for the event, and community volunteers can take care of
coordinating sessions, organizing seminars, BoFs etc.
Your inputs are appreciated!
Will do , i need a list things done in last two years i could not find
it on mukt.in .
after getting this info will be talking to Prof Sangal with a proposal.

apart from that we also need to have tentative dates

The first couple of things to be finalized:
* Date(s)
* Seminar hall/labs that can be used for the event.
This will help others book early tickets, call for sponsors, and
volunteers can start to coordinate things. If we need to do prior
workshops for students at IIIT, we can also plan them.
So, I request IIIT folks to arrange for a suitable date for discussing
and finalizing the above (with Krish, Satyakaam, and
myself[optional]).

I had asked for a possible discussion two weeks ago with IIIT,
Hyderabad professors, and I haven't got a reply.
Can IIIT, Hyderabad students' please respond for a possible date and
time for discussion?
Thanks,

"looking at it i find First Week of NOV 6th , 7th or 7th , 8th as one
set of dates, or one day event what do you guys think?"

listed under Center for Open Software ( COS)
http://www.iiit.net/people/faculty/vikram

I would prefer to be open to discussion to all. In this regard, could
we also talk to:
* Prof. Haasan, Department of Astronomy, Osmania University.
I believe their department has been renovated, and they could be a
possible venue?
Any thoughts?
i thought we have crossed that stage , anway if the options are open
we can think of University of Hyderabad too i see Prof Atul Negi in
back in campus we can talk to him too.
