Hi,

I'd like to use hippocanvas in an application that needs to be
portable under windows and linux (ideally under mac as well).

Are there already compiled binaries for python-hippocanvas?

Thanks in advance

I downloaded mugshot for XP and I found some .dll but I see no
dependancy from python is needed so I guess python-hippocanvas is not
developed by you.

Does anybody know if it has ever ported to windows?

I'd really be interested to know as I should use a widget that is
based on hippocanvas (a calendar) and in case there is no possibility
to find any I should find some alternatives. Thanks.

No, there aren't.

python-hippocanvas is actually a binding for hippo-canvas + GTK and
binds GTK-specifics like hippo.CanvasWindow and hippo.CanvasWidget.

It would be possible to use hippo-canvas + GTK+ on Windows, but that's
not how Mugshot for windows works.

Mugshot for windows uses hippo-canvas in conjuction with our own
extremely simple widget system built on top of the native windows calls.

Plus we statically link hippo-canvas in with application code rather
than building a separate DLL. And we don't use python there.

So, inclusion:

- Building binaries of hippo-canvas + gtk and the python binaries
should be possible for Windows and for OS X.

- I don't think anybody has done it.

Thanks very much for the information.

that's good news. Since there are already sources for python-
hippocanvas
under linux, can I hope cross compiling would be feaseable?

I'm no C man at all but I'm not windows man eather, I think I saw
several tutorial on cross compiling thought so I'd hope I could go
that way.

If you think you have any more hints I'll appreciate ;-)

PS: should someone feel like doing it, I'd feel like paying for it...
