How do one install gnome on a system where is wasn't installed
initially? To me it looks like one have to choose every pacakge manually
as I cannot find any task-gnome package.

Thanks in advance

Use Ada 95, a free language. More info at http://www.adapower.com/

Did you try apt-get install gnome? If this does not work apt-get
install a_package_that_requires_gnome

No. It only installes the gnome packages it needs not the rest. The
system ended up missing several gnome packages.

Try installing the gnome-session package... I don't run gnome myself
though so I'm not sure.
