hi,

how could one avoid that error messages contain mixed windows / msys
paths like in the error message below?

Hi folks
I got a GUI problem on my computer:
Everytime I try to clone a repository via the GUI, the GUI returns that my
login credentials are incorrect or false.
But when I use the GIT Bash, everything works fine. If you prefer I can
post my logs (if the stable version produces any)
My Operating System is Windows 8 64 Bit.

Hi,

so after GitHub now also Google Code is deprecating its download
service [1]. For mingwGitDevEnv [2] we're currently evaluating BinTray
[3] [4] as a download service. I've created two place-holder
organizations at BinTray, "git4windows" [5] and "git-for-windows" [6],
just in case we would like to use that for hosting the downloads. I

That bug occurs when curl is built with winssl. However in commit
3a9151c curl: switch back to openssl and avoid dynamic link to zlib
I reverted back to using openssl as in testing I found that the winssl
version had trouble when trying to clone from an internal network
machine when the proxy access was unavailable due to checking for

When accessing a remote repository via HTTPS and the HTTPS server uses a
self-signed certificate, it seems to be necessary to put the signing CA's
certificate into a file and configure the http.sslcainfo property to point
to that file. This is a bit of a hassle if you need to support multiple CAs

I am unable to clone a git repository in a freenas jail, from Windows
Vista 32-bit using 1.8.1.2 of git bash. I get this

First of all,
the patch we are talking about does not any regrssions at my side.

Second,
I was able to do some testing.
The hanging is not 100% reproducable, and I had one hanging in Git 1.8.1

Turning the screen saver off in Win XP helps that the machine reacts,
and using process explorer showed that the hanging is happening

I had the problem that git-clone exited with 'read error' when connected
to git-daemon on windows. I read the issue
197([link])<[link]> too.
The issue 197 resolved to chage MTU.

I would like to resolve to another method which is modify some git sources.
