Mary Anne,
BackupBuddy might be of use here.  It can grab the database and all files for you.  Once you have that, the next step is finding a new host!

A woman I know has a wp site she can log in to edit, but she hasn't heard from her host for months. They are not billing her, nor answering her calls. So she/we can't access the cpanel.

I looked at it. Here's what I found:
  • The login page is a redirect : domain/wp-login.php?redirect_to=http%3A%2F%2Fdomaoin%2Fwp-admin%2F&reauth=1
  • The theme is "Root"
  • In appearance/editor, the header, footer and function files are all accessible. The style.css is empty
  • the path to the css file being used is domain/css/style.css (using HTML5 Boilerplate )
  • in "theme options" - CSS Grid Framework is pointed at "blueprint css"
  • She can download and activate plugins and themes
I'd really like to hear what folks here think her best next steps are.

Thanks
Mary Anne

So, I was just look at the Paypal Transaction Settings in the Gravity Forms Paypal add-on.  I have a question I can't find addressed directly in the gravity forms documentation.  Wondering if someone has experience with this to know the answer.

The notifications checkbox says:
Send notifications only when payment is received.

And then if checked, it adds a checkbox that says,
Admin notification

So, just how do these work.  There are automated replies that you can set up upon submit.  Would these prevent them from being sent to a purchaser until payment cleared?  So that if they completed a form but didn't pay, it would not send notification?  And then notification wouldn't be sent to the admin either?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Yes, that indicates which notifications should be delayed until after payment is confirmed (via Paypal IPN) to be sent. I'd assume the other would be sent as normal (upon submit) if you have multiple notifications (possible in GF 1.7). But I haven’t tested that.

The "Admin Notification" you're seeing is the default one GF sets up for new forms.

Yes, if they submit but never pay, or submit, pay, then cancel their payment before it clears (e.g. for an eCheck) I believe wouldn't send the notifications as nothing has actually been purchased - thus Paypal won’t ping back to say "this order is paid".

Paypal is a pain to implement as a payment processor for this very reason -- it causes all kinds of edge cases and cinditions compared to the immediate response you get from a credit card transaction (failed or accepted).
