Hi,
Until FF v3.5 when the last tab was closed a new empty tab
would appear. Now it is not possible to close the last tab. To
emulate this behaviour I have to open a new tab and close the
non-empty one.

It would be really nice to have the old behaviour back. (If
necessary, via an option.)

Cheers,
Herre

Why? I've never been able to figure out WHY anyone would just want a
blank page sitting there? What's wrong with your home page? Or any
page, really?

Any new URL is just going to load over the top of it, and having the
home page sitting there isn't going to slow that down.

And if you don't want to see the home page sitting there, just minimize
Firefox.

I really can't see why anybody would want to have a blank page sitting
there....

I guess it's a matter of taste. I don't like the last page
sitting there because it may still be doing stuff, such
as autmatically refresh or play horrible music (although
that kind of pages usually get closed long before they
are the last tab left). Subconsciously there are probably
more reasons.

And I'm not just watching this empty page sitting there.
Usually FF is minimized, waiting to jump back into action.

Cheers,
Herre

For one, privacy. Clearing out of the browser whatever you were doing,
reading email or whatever, before someone looks over your shoulder or
borrows the browser for a moment.
