Target audiences for l20n doc
Hey guys, I'm outlining the target audiences for the MDN L20n doc and having some difficulty really evaluating the differences between target audiences and the information to present to each. Here's how I see it: Target audiences: - Localizer -Localizer with coding knowledge -Localizer with linguistics knowledge... more »

Operation Sundance: Fix everything else that is not code
L20n got a lot of positive ccomments after the talk at Front Trends last week and I would like to take this opportunity to fix gaps in our dev process that may be stopping developers from 1) using L20n and 2) improving it. With no documentation and few working tests, we create barriers to... more »

preview.python.org as inspiration for l20n.org
Hi, L20ners! Have you seen the new python.org yet? [link] The obligatory HN discussion: [link] I'm not a fan of the second-level navigation bar, although I get it that they have much more content than l20n does. The choice of the code snippet is a peculiar one; maybe it's not the... more »

git school
An inspiration for tools/workflow tutorial: [link] Notice that midway through the tutorial it connects live with github and you really work on clones. I find it a pretty powerful concept. Cheers, g.

MessageFormat.js
Looks like an interesting approach. I like the syntax, because it's simple. I like the way they're reducing redundancy with it, but as you proved, we can also do that (if needed!). But I don't like the way you use it, because it looks complicated. BTW, are we also going to have plural rules hardcoded?... more »

MessageFormat.js
A few day ago I came across MessageFormat.js in my twitter stream. Someone recommended it to someone else as the best client- and server-side solution to l10n in JavaScript currently available. I can't find that tweet sadly, but I took some time to dig into MessageFormat.js and report back with my findings.... more »
